Jiaul Baksh has been an Assistant Professor at the DIT College of Healthcare Profession, DIT University, Dehradun, since June 2024. He holds a Master of Medical Science degree from Keio University, Tokyo, Japan, and a Bachelor of Optometry from Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Kolkata, India. He completed a Pediatric Optometry Fellowship at the L V Prasad Eye Institute in Hyderabad, India.
Mr. Baksh has extensive experience in both clinical practice and research. He has worked as a Consultant Optometrist at Narayana Nethralaya Eye Hospital, Bangalore, and as a Junior Optometrist at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad. His expertise includes conducting comprehensive pediatric eye examinations, managing binocular vision clinics, and performing advanced diagnostic procedures with state-of-the-art ophthalmic instruments.
In addition to his clinical proficiency, Mr. Baksh is skilled in clinical and basic research. He has published research on topics such as myopia and ocular blood flow. His current research is focused on developing new methods to inhibit myopia and its progression and understand the role of choroid in ocular growth.
