The faculty of School of Design at DIT has a cutting-edge Computer lab equipped with high end systems boasting of licensed Computer for our design students. These systems come with latest design productivity application such as Blender, Flashprint, SketchUp, Adobe CC 2020 Photoshop,Illustrator,Premiere Pro, After Effects, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Animate, Z Brush, Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max, AutoCAD Rhino 7, Mac Monkey Jam, Dragonframe Studio, etc.
Chroma studio is a state-of-the-art green screen studio purpose built for our Visual Graphics and Animation students to allow them to understand what goes on, on an actual film set! With all the latest gadgetry, rigs and cameras available in the studio, the students get a hands-on feel for producing that movie magic right here in DIT.
The Carpentry workshop is where the magic happens! CO2 Laser Cutters, Welding machines, Bench drill press, Airbrushes, Glue guns and lots of crafty tools at the disposal of our creative students. With these kinds of pieces of equipment, the sky is the limit!
School has a Model making workshop with necessary tools and materials needed for creating 3D models.
Design education is a hands-on process and besides the theoretical inputs, a lot of learning happens by doing. To facilitate this, the school has dedicated studios for each year, which are where the maximum time of student is spent.
To facilitate the development of the visual skills and imagination of students, School has a fully furnished Art Studio where they can explore and experiment with various materials and media.
Knowledge of building materials, their properties and uses is essential for the building professionals. Material museum at SoAP showcase various building materials used in building construction.
These include bricks and blocks, aggregates, steel and aluminium profile sections for various uses, plumbing fittings and fixtures, electrical fittings and fixtures and variety of other finishing materials including timber and plywood.
Architecture is closely linked to the natural world. A study in Architecture would be incomplete without understanding the geographical and climatological phenomena.
To facilitate this, the Faculty of Architecture and Design has an equipped Climatology Lab with the instruments and facilities needed to ensure that the students are trained and competent to handle this aspect of the profession as well.
A large seminar hall at SoAP remain active for invited talks, special lectures and other academic events for the faculty and students. Seminar Hall is equipped with state of the art audio visual facility.
Besides the Central Library, the Department has an extensive in-house library that caters to the specifics of Architectural Education.
It has 1200 titles, more than 5000 volumes and 36 national and international journals. The Library also subscribes to the EBESCO Online Data Base. The Library also provides a Resource Centre where previous years Theses and Reports, as well as Documentation work available for ready reference.

Practice and experiential learning are critical to a robust Architectural pedagogy.
School has a dedicated construction yard where the students learn by doing, is an integral part of the education process. We also organize educational tours and site visits to construction sites for better understanding of methods and techniques.
