In these Rules unless there is anything repugnant to the subject or the context
- ‘Act’ means The DIT University Act, 2012 (Uttarakhand Act No. 10 of 2013);
- ‘Section’ and ‘Sub-section’ means a ‘Section’ and ‘Sub-section’ of the Act;
- ‘Statutes’ means Statutes of the University as framed under the provisions of the Act;
- ‘Roll Number’ means a number allotted to each student admitted to a program (courses of studies) by the University or its Constituent College.
- ‘Enrollment’ means enrollment of the students to the University;
- ‘Enrollment Number’ means a number allotted by the University for Identification of student enrolled in the University;
- ‘Program’ means courses of studies leading to the conferment or award of a degree, diploma, certificate, or any other academic distinction or title of the University;
- ‘Course’ means a subject offered as a unit of studies within an academic program;
- ‘Curricula’ means the courses of the program with the structure,sequence and other details related to the program;
- ‘Syllabi’ mean and include the detailed content of courses,duration, pedagogy, session plans, suggested reading and reference materials and other related details of the course;
- ‘Examination Centre’ means a college or a school/department where the University examinations are conducted;
- ‘Centre-in-charge’ means a person appointed by the University to conduct the examinations at the examination centre;
- ‘Examinee’ means a student who fulfills all the eligibility criteria for appearing in the University examinations;
- ‘Examination Hall’ means a room/hall in the examination centre, where the University examination is being conducted;
- ‘Examination Cell’ means a department constituted by the University to deal with all issues related to University examinations;
- ‘University’ means the ‘DIT UNIVERSITY’, Uttarakhand including its Faculties, Schools, Departments, Constituent Colleges, Career Academic Centres, Regional Centres, Study Centres and campuses within the state or outside.
Words denoting the singular shall include the plural & also vice versa.(3) Words denoting any gender shall include all genders.
Words and expressions used in these Rules but not defined shall have the same meaning respectively as assigned to them in the Act and/or the Statutes.
