This field is an interdisciplinary and integrative science that investigates the pharmacological effects of endogenous and exogenous substances on living organism.
It emphasises therapeutic effects, toxicity, and the genetics of drug discovery and development. The objective of the programme is to educate students in cutting-edge techniques for basic research in pharmacology, toxicology, environmental toxicology, pharmacogenetics, pharmacovigilance, and closely related sub-disciplines. Students in the programme are prepared for pharmacological practice and jobs in independent research or related fields in academia, industry, or government. Programme follow the Pharmacy Council of India's curriculum and also include value-added and aptitude-building courses.
