On the Occasion of World Environment Day (June 05th 2018), Dept. of Chemistry organizes an awareness rally from Kuthal Gate to Malsi Deer Park, Mussoorie Road to eradicate polythene and plastic materials. The target groups were tourists, shopkeepers, villagers and college students. People were awakened about impacts of non-biodegradable substances, packaging’s and plastic material on natural ecosystems. On this occasion Prof. Naveen Singhal, Dr. Jabrinder Singh, Dr. Porwal alongwith students motivate and aware the public, tourists and shopkeepers about menace of plastic. During this awareness drive, local communities including tourists were awakened regarding ill-impacts of polythene and plastic material in eco-sensitive zones of Dehradun.
