Brief Profile
  • Brief Profile

My journey began with a bachelor's in optometry from Vidyasagar College of Optometry and Vision Science. I completed an M.Phil. from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and earned my Ph.D. from the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, where I made significant research contributions. Notably, my doctoral research focused on the in vivo examination of the corneal epithelium, offering valuable insights into corneal health in complex ocular surface diseases and environmental factors such as exposure to ultraviolet radiation from the Sun. After completing my Ph.D. I joined the University of Houston, College of Optometry as a post-doctoral research fellow where I conducted research on ocular immunology. I presented my research in various national and international scientific forums and published research papers in peer-reviewed journals.

My passion for the field extends beyond research. At the Queensland University of Technology, I served as the Vice President of the Optical Society of America's student chapter, initiating monthly journal club meetings, conducting lectures, and fostering collaborations. Additionally, my role as a Teaching Assistant allowed me to impart knowledge on ophthalmic optics and visual science to budding professionals.

With a robust academic background, a rich repository of research contributions, and a commitment to advancing optometry, I am poised to continue making impactful strides in vision science research. I am quite sociable and love being around a team with motivation towards achieving the common good.
