Deepesh Patidar joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in 2025. Patidar earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Stretchable Electronics) from IIT Jammu, focusing on PDMS-based stretchable electronics. He also holds an M.Tech in Modeling and Simulation from the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DRDO), Pune, and a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from SRM University, Chennai. Patidar’s research centers on stretchable electronics, advanced fabrication techniques, and modeling. He has contributed significantly to developing materials for wearable technology and robotics, optimizing sensor performance, and filing patents, including systems for hydrogen storage and spark ablation machines. His work has been extensively published in high-impact journals and presented at international conferences. Before joining as a faculty member, Patidar was a postdoctoral researcher at IIT Jammu, specializing in optimizing stretchable strain sensors. In addition to his research, he led Tinkering Lab programs at IIT Jammu, training over 200 teachers and 500 students in hands-on learning, and contributed as a library coordinator, enhancing academic resources for students and faculty.
