At current time, world is facing extreme challenges of Greenhouse house gas emissions. The net result is associated temperature increase and climate change. These bad effects are evident through flood, drought, agricultural damage, forest fires, desertification etc. Therefore, the effects are directly related to lifeforms and affecting environmentally, socially, economically and making situation vulnerable for every living beings day by day.

The reason of this effects lies on deforestation, fossil fuel burning and use of all conventional energy resources that produce air pollutants every time when those get released from concerned sources. These air pollutants are responsible for several health hazards especially respiratory diseases. Also, these pollutants create acid rain while reacting to water droplets which destroys building materials and soil nutrient profiles.

Moreover, conventional energy resources like Coal, petroleum resources are not sustainable for future generations as these are not widely distributed everywhere and whole world geopolitics depend on procurement and storage of these resources which are going to be depleted due to over exploitation. Replenishment of these resources never happen in human life time scale rather in geological time scale. So, solution is to thrive for alternative and green energy solution which will reduce impact on Environment by preventing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants.

Therefore, United Nation SDG goal 7 directs for affordable and clean energy. The clean energy sources are Solar, wind, hydel etc but sometimes there are several geological, economic and technological constraints that make these resources not so common and difficult to set up. Moreover, many of these resources are not easily affordable to all section of the society and the people still remain without electricity in this modern age and depend on burning wood or coal for cooking purpose. So, as the part of society all organizations: Government, NGOs and private must come together for promotion of this UN goal through research and technological development to make the alternative green energy resources economical, affordable for all stakeholders of society.

Promotion of Electric Vehicles, Hydrogen as alternative energy source, use of energy efficient electrical appliances must be the motto for all of us. DIT University promotes this goal through national-international collaborative research, curriculum development, executing sponsored research projects, outreach activities, awareness programs, community programs.
